      Sr. Embedded  Software Engineer

Responsibilities
  • Design code for interrupt service routines (mainly for the display block) on MIPS processor.
  • Understand the details of how the h/w works; being able to design, implement and test low level API's for both block level and system level.
  • Work in a firmware team very close to the ASIC design team, the architect team, the diagnostics team and the drivers' team.
  • Solve the technical problems by implementing flexible methods and by being involved in the architecture verification of the ASIC design.

Requirements
  • B. Sc. in Elect. Engineering or Computer Science
  • M. Sc. Or M. Eng. Preferable
  • 6+ years experience on C language programming with some knowledge of C++
  • Strong experience in low level programming (register level) and embedded programming.
  • Strong video processing experience (e.g. de-interlacing, up/down scaling, overlay).
  • Knowledge on SDTV/HDTV (analog and digital video) such as NTSC/PAL, 480i, 720p, 1080i YPrPb, VBI etc. standards.
  • Knowledge in consumer analog and digital video and audio (MPEG decoder).
  • Understanding architecture of MIPS processor (including interrupt service routines).
  • Knowledge in system level hardware and software design.
  • Experience in A/V synchronization an asset.
  • Knowledge in data caching/memory bandwidth/latency.
  • C/Assembly programming on MIPS an asset.
